This week's photo from the archives is a simple sunset shot I took from our backyard.
Backyard Sunset
Morning Colours
I've noticed that it's been a while since I've posted a sunrise or a sunset, so I couldn't just let that pass. Actually, it's been a while since I've gone out to shoot a sunrise or sunset, so I will need to spend some time out to make up for it this year.
This sunrise was taken about a year ago, but unfortunately, I don't remember where I was at the time. I love the wide range of colours in the shot as well as the randomness of the clouds.
Cloudscapes
As I continue to review and clean up my archives, I've been trying to conceptually group some photos together into some kind of common topic. For today's photos, I've grouped a number of cloudscapes I took at various times a couple of years ago. We really do get some great cloud shots here in Calgary.
Friday's Photo - Storm Clouds
A brief thunder storm rolled through our neighbourhood last night pelting us with some heavy rain and pea-to-grape-sized hail. Here are a couple of shots of the neat clouds as they were leaving our area.
Friday's Photo – Blue Chinook Arch
Today's photo comes from the archives from late last year. I was wandering through the neighbourhood one evening and noticed the interesting gap of sky between the clouds as the sun was setting. I would later learn that this is a typical formation from a chinook arch. This photo was taken in a future construction zone and the water you see is actually fairly shallow, as it is just a little flood of rain and/or melted snow in a few future house lots.
