Well, we hope everyone is having a great holiday season! As the year winds down and the new one approaches, we'll be taking a little break from the goings on around here and hopefully come back refreshed with some new and exciting developments in the new year!
In the meantime, here's a few wintry photos I dug up from the archives for your enjoyment!

It's been a little while since our last update, but I went digging through the archives (doing a lot of cleanup work in the photo management software I use) and found a couple of nice dandelion shots I took last summer. Just the thing to think about in the face of our winter chill!

Remember those sunrise shots from last week? Well, you might have noticed a slight gap between the IMG numbers of those photos. I had a series of panorama shots that I've now stitched together. Check them out on Flickr or in our own gallery:

We've been seeing a lot of incredible sunrises and sunsets in Calgary lately. Sadly, I'm typically either already in the office or at the kids' sports activities. Today I was able to catch some brilliant sunrises on my way home from dropping the kids off at school. While I missed out on some of the bright reds (you should check out @tremaine's Photostream for a few of those), I did manage to catch some of the bright oranges.

I've been busy learning the ropes around developing software on the Android mobile platform, which has in turn caused me to neglect my photography somewhat. If you're curious, Android development is very interesting, though it can be somewhat challenging for someone who hasn't touched Java in quite some time. It's coming back though, slowly but surely. I'll likely write some more posts about it as I get further into it and actually have a working app or two.
Anyway, back to some photography. Calgary experienced some pretty heavy fog last weekend, which inspired me to grab the camera and wander around a little bit. It was quite chilly though, and of course I didn't dress appropriately, so I only lasted a short while.
Here are a couple of shots I took along the Elbow River from that day:
