Today's photo from the archives goes back to a short photo walk I did along the Elbow River in Calgary. This was taken shortly before sunset which helped give the river a shiny golden glow.
For this week, the Project52 theme is 'Up'. I had a couple of ideas of things to shoot for this, but finally decided on this one. With a two year old at home, I imagined that this would be how the kitchen looks to her – handles out of reach, but begging to be grabbed.
I seem to have *cough* accidentally *cough* upgraded my phone to the latest and greatest from Google. ;-)
Behold the shiny new Galaxy Nexus with Android 4! This is the unlocked GSM version that's currently available at Telus here in Canada.
I've only had it for less than a day, so I'm still tinkering with it, but I'm liking it so far. The UI is pretty smooth and responsive and the feature set is definitely an improvement over Android 2. Physically, it's certainly a large phone, as you can see in the shot next to my comically-small-in-comparison HTC Hero. The texture on the back of the phone feels slippery and I've already dropped the darn thing a couple of times, so I'll need to look into getting a case of some kind.

Now I just need to spend some time to migrate my data and apps over from the Hero and tinker with it some more. Should be fun!
For this week's 'Rule of Thirds' theme, I thought this hanging Canadian flag would make a great subject, in contrast to the beams and pipes in the ceiling. This was taken at one of our indoor soccer arenas while I was out at one of my son's soccer games last week.
Continuing from the earlier frozen puddle shots, here i a similar one from my archives of some ice that formed over a gravel surface.
